Anthropic Privacy Policy effective July 8, 2026

Anthropic's consumer Privacy Policy, effective July 8, 2026, lists materials flagged for safety, security or policy review among data sources used for model development. It states that even after a user opts out of ordinary model improvement, flagged Inputs and Outputs may still be used to improve harmful-content detection, enforce policies or advance safety research. For trust-and-safety model training, flagged content may be disassociated from the user ID, while Anthropic reserves the ability to re-identify it for enforcement when necessary. The policy also permits disclosure of personal data to government authorities, law enforcement or other third parties when Anthropic has a good-faith belief that disclosure is reasonably necessary to prevent serious harm, address illegal activity, comply with law or protect rights and safety.
