Perplexity operates multiple AI products with different security boundaries. Its open-source SPACE platform uses Firecracker guests and describes signed execution-generation capabilities to prevent sandbox requests reaching stale or mismatched worker incarnations. The security of guest network destinations, credentials and process placement must be tested independently. Perplexity also offers a Decisions API; an October 13 developer support thread documented well-formed but poorly discriminating decisions followed by a reported recovery. The forum report does not establish a platform-wide breach or the population of affected automated choices. These products should remain distinct research subjects even though the operator is the same company.
