Record description
TaskMarket is an on-chain work marketplace with task claiming, submission, reward and stake transitions that AI workers can initiate using funded wallets. Its hook interface lets a task-specific contract influence whether submitted work is accepted. Therefore a wallet agent may successfully claim a task and spend USDC without knowing whether its finished deliverable can cross the later validation boundary.
Two operator reports from October 29 and 31 describe custom-hook submission failures after reported stakes of 0.9 and 1 USDC on different task IDs. A subsequent 30-task forensic scan flagged 23 tasks and reported 16 hook addresses sharing a 1,193-byte runtime. The original reported hook had a different digest. These are operator and researcher observations, not independently verified common-controller attribution or confirmed final losses across the platform. The existing custom-hook Case holds the canonical investigation.
A separate November 2 report describes the platform-default TaskTokenRewardHook failing a submission and a CLI worker identity mismatch. Neither observation proves it shared the suspected custom-hook cause. The two failure classes should remain separate when evaluating remediation. A meaningful worker-side review needs the chain, task ID, payer, task owner, hook address and code hash at a known block, accepted submission conditions and stake release/forfeiture events. Amount-only spending caps cannot establish task deliverability; the payment-requirements concept covers that distinction.
